Ghorabiye, Qurabiya, Ghoriba, Ghoorabie by any other name...

...would taste as sweet

½ c butter
½ c sugar
2 egg yolks
2 T almond flavor
1 ½ c flour
Milk
Powdered sugar
Slivered almonds
Cream butter and sugar, add egg, add flavor and flour. Add a little more if really sticky. Moisten hand with milk, shape cookies into 1 ½ long, ¾” wide logs. Dip in milk and arrange on lightly greased cookie sheet. Press a slivered almond on top of each one. Bake 350° for 12 minutes. Remove from sheet and roll in powdered sugar. Place on wax paper to cool.
